The Reading Coaching Cycle
Ongoing, job-embedded coaching for K–8 teachers.

Good literacy coaching isn't a one-time event, it's a cycle. I work alongside teachers through a repeating 4–6 week rhythm so instruction stays responsive to what students actually need, not a fixed program running on autopilot. The goal is to build educator capacity in delivering solid Tier One and Tier Two instruction so my services become redundant.
The cycle
- Gather Data - Collect reliable, valid assessment data on where students actually are.
- Interpret What It Means — Translate the data into a clear picture of student and class-wide needs.
- Identify Student Needs — Pinpoint gaps using evidence-based frameworks, not guesswork.
- Model & Coach Explicit Strategies — Demonstrate and co-teach the instructional moves that close those gaps.
- Revisit & Monitor Progress — Return to the data to confirm growth and adjust instruction.
